Now’s The Time To Head To Hawaii

A few times a year opportunities pop up that you generally don’t see.  Those of you with flexible travel schedules can reap some fantastic rewards if you keep your eyes open.  Now’s a great time to consider Hawaii.

Mommy Points has a great post about ultra-cheap fares on United from multiple large cities like Dallas and Miami.  A quick peek shows fares in the $400-$500 range, which is really a great deal.  If you happen to be an elite on United, you can also use Regional Premier Upgrades and Global Premier Upgrades to sit in First Class for the trip.

View From The Wing points out that you can tack on a city to the itinerary based on the way United has their prices loaded.  That means other popular cities (he cites Washington Dulles) can be had for $500-$600.

Travel needs to start by mid-November, so not everyone will be able to take advantage of this opportunity.  But, instead of thinking about Hawaii as a two-week trip because of the expense to get there, think about a 5-day trip over a long weekend for not that much cash.  And, you’ll earn a ton of miles that you can use for a free ticket on your next trip!
